Appleは27日(現地時間)、同社が販売するスマートフォン(スマホ)「iPhone」シリーズ向けプラットフォーム「iOS」とタブレット「iPad」シリーズ向けプラットフォーム「iPadOS」の最新バージョン「iOS 26.6(23G71)」および「iPadOS 26.6(23G71)」を提供開始したとお知らせしています。変更点は次の「iOS 27」に備えたSpotlightの素引の最適化のほか、バグ修正やセキュリティーアップデートが含まれるということです。
なお、セキュリティーアップデートについてはCVEに登録されているKernel関連の「CVE-2026-64749」や「CVE-2026-43778」、「CVE-2026-64709」、「CVE-2026-64735」、「CVE-2026-43739」、「CVE-2026-43816」、「CVE-2026-43822」、「CVE-2026-64729」、「CVE-2026-43814」、「CVE-2026-64700」、「CVE-2026-28931」、「CVE-2026-43817」、「CVE-2026-43810」などの87個の脆弱性が修正されているということで、同社ではこれらの脆弱性のうちのいくつかは積極的に悪用されている可能性があるという報告を認識しているとしています。
対象機種はiOS 26.6では最新の「iPhone 17e」を含めたiPhone 11シリーズ以降やiPhone SE(第2世代)以降が対象、iPadOS 26.6ではiPad(第8世代)以降やiPad mini(第5世代)以降、iPad Air(第3世代)以降、12.9インチiPad Pro(第3世代)以降および11インチiPad Pro(第1世代)以降のiPad Proシリーズが対象で、各製品にて無料で更新可能です。なお、iOS 18の対象機種だったiPhone XSシリーズおよびiPhone XR、iPadOS 18の対象機種だったiPad(第7世代)はそれぞれ対象外となり、対象外の機種ではそれぞれiOS 26やiPadOS 26にはアップデートできないのでご注意ください。
また同社では合わせてパソコン「Mac」向け「macOS Tahoe 26.6」および「macOS Sequoia 15.7.8」、「macOS Sonoma 14.8.8」、スマートウォッチ「Apple Watch」向け「watchOS 26.6」、スマートテレビ「Apple TV」向け「tvOS 26.6」、スマートヘッドセット「Apple Vision」向け「visionOS 26.6」、Webブラウザー「Safari 26.6」なども配信開始しています。
